In conjunction with Fitness Australia in NSW, Fitnation has developed the Older. Fitter. Better program to enable trainers to work with older clients.

The aim of this course is to provide instructors and trainers with the skills and knowledge that will enable them to work with older clients. It should be emphasized that instructors and trainers would work in association with health and medical professionals when providing services to many of these clients.

The course includes:

  • Introduction to ageing
  • Legalities and ethical considerations
  • Principles of exercise programming
  • Assessing the capabilities of the older client
  • Designing and instructing exercise and activity programs
  • Strength training
  • Physical and medical conditions associated with ageing

Prerequisite: Certificate III in Fitness

This course is presented by Vicki Derkley, Diploma of Fitness, Rehabilitation and Older Adult Specialist.

Assessments

Case study style questions and a practical assessment that is completed by video.

Mini Moves Accreditation Course

The one stop package to becoming fully equipped to run your own business taking children’s pre-choreographed programs. Fitness through fun!

Are you a qualified fitness instructor or personal trainer and want to really do something about childhood obesity? Become a Mini Moves Accredited Instructor and you’ll be fully equipped to conduct a complete fitness program for kids. With Mini Moves, you’ll really make a difference!!

The Mini Moves Instructor Accreditation program is a nationally accredited course, supported and delivered by Fitnation.

The Mini Moves course includes 3 programs in 1:

  1. Mini Moves - Physical Activity & Nutrition (5 to 10 year olds)
  2. Mini Moves - Fitness Circuits (5 - 10 year olds)
  3. Kinder Moves (3 to 5 year olds)

Each of these 3 programs has between 10 - 12 fun themed, pre-choreographed sessions. The sessions have all been designed by a team of fitness professionals and include:

  • Warm up activities and ice breakers
  • Cardiovascular fitness and strength
  • Sport skills, fun games, balance activities
  • Stretching

Mini Moves Accreditation Instructor Resources

This program has been designed to be a complete package for you to set up your own children's fitness business. It includes:

  • Program and circuit instructions manual
  • 4 DVDs showing program demonstrations
  • Operational requirements and guidelines
  • Templates for all adminstration forms and marketing material
  • Healthy snack foods recipe book
  • 3 Mini Moves t-shirts (1 instructor, 2 kids samples)

Pre-requisites

  • Certificate in Fitness (Gym or Group Exercise Instructor)
  • Qualified children's instructor (equivalent to SRFCHA001A of Certificate IV in Fitness). If you do not have this unit of competency, enrol in the Certificate in Children's Fitness at the same time for less than half price, $200.
  • Working with Children Check (needs to be completed before certificate is issued)

Flexible Delivery

You can choose to complete the Mini Moves course by:

  • Contact - attend our 1 day training session to participate in an overview of the programs and gain valuable industry knowledge from our experience presenters. Our next contact course will be held in Melbourne on Saturday 13th November, or contact Fitnation to find out about holding a special training session at your workplace.
  • Online - start anytime and work at your own pace. You are provided with PowerPoint presentations, video clips, notes, activities, assessments and student support.
  • Correspondenc - start anytime and work from anywhere. You are provided with manuals and DVDs and can work at your own pace.

Refunds

  • For students enrolled in contact course, refund requests must be received no later than 7 days prior to commencement of course. Refunds will be given less an administration fee of $200. No refund will be given if all resources have been sent.
  • For students enrolled in the online course who have received the username and password and therefore access to the course, no refunds will be given.
  • For students enrolled in the correspondence course no refunds will be given once resources have been sent.
  • Enrolments cannot be transferred
  • If any materials are damaged in any way please inform us immediately and we will arrange replacements promptly.
