The SRF50206 Diploma of Fitness is the nationally accredited qualification to become a Fitness Specialist or Fitness Therapist. The qualification is part of the National Training Package and recognised throughout Australia. It is composed of units of competency packaged into five modules as follows:

| Musculoskeletal Exercise Rehabilitation | Working as part of a health care team providing exercise rehabilitation for musculoskeletal conditions including joint pain, arthritis, back injuries, muscle strains and ligament damage. |
| Physical Conditions and Exercise | Providing exercise rehabilitation for musculoskeletal conditions including cardiovascular disease, peripheral vascular disease, arteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, respiratory disease, deep vein thrombosis and emphysema. |
| Coaching and Advanced Conditioning | Methods of conditioning for athletes. |
| Organisational Management | Management techniques used in the operation of a fitness based organization. |
You can complete the course in the environment of your choosing and in your own time. We allow a maximum of three months for each module but most students complete the course in a much shorter period. There is no minimum time frame which means you can complete the course as quickly as you like. It all depends on how many hours you put in to study each week. We will send you out all the materials you need to complete the course in the form of text books, assessment manual, DVDs and theory exams.

Qualification Issued
Students completing all units will receive a certificate indicating the following:
- SRF 50206 Diploma of Fitness
- A Statement of Attainment indicating the units of competency included in the courses. The units include those required for registration as a Fitness Therapist/Specialist.
Students need to have completed Certificate III and IV in Fitness and have at least 12 months work experience as a gym instructor or personal trainer to enrol in the course.
Articulation into Exercise Science Degree Programs
If you are interested in completing an Exercise Science degree, the Diploma of Fitness can be used to assist your opportunities. The Australian Catholic University offers degree programs in Exercise Science. Graduates of the Fitnation Diploma of Fitness can apply for entry into the degree through the Early Achievers program. The program assists ‘non-school’ leavers to gain selection into the ACU Exercise Science degree through the recognition of professional and community service achievements. Studying by correspondence allows you to work at your own pace in the environment of your choice. You have three months to complete each module or short course, but most people finish sooner.
